Coach Sky Royston - Youth Head Coach

On behalf of the Rochester Panthers Wrestling Club I would like to welcome you to the sport of wrestling! My name is Sky Royston and this is my 3rd year as head coach of the club, although I did help out with the team my first year as a parent coach. I’m super excited to be working with all the kids on developing into good students, neighbors, athletes and friends. For those of you who may be new to the sport, it’s important to know that wrestling may be individual on the mat, but it’s a brotherhood off. Growing up in the sport I can tell you that I developed lifelong friends who ultimately became my family. I started my wrestling journey in a small town two hours west of Rochester (New Ulm). While in high school I was a 3 time letter winner and team captain. After finishing high school I competed for Rochester Community and Technical College where I also was a true freshman starter (Go Jackets!). Outside of wrestling I have a passion for helping people. After college I started working with children with ASD as a behavior therapist and I’m currently an Administrator for a company who provides residential and in-home services for individuals with developmental disabilities. I have been working with children for the past 14 years. Without a doubt, I would not be where I am without having trained to be a wrestler. There are no words to explain what the sport has given to me. Our goal as coaches is to foster an environment of Fun, Teamwork, and Individual Achievement. As long as the kids are having fun, working together, and doing their best they have already won! My wife and I are proud parents of two. My daughter Zoe is in the 5th grade and my son Lane is in 3rd. Please feel free to stop me anytime to chat, but beware… I talk a lot! To help families get to know us, we thought it best to provide you with some information on what to expect in the upcoming year…

Coach Todd Heins - Board President / Youth Coach

My name is Todd Heins and I am the current RPWC Board President and Assistant coach.  This is my 5th season helping out with the club.  I grew up in a big wrestling community and wrestled for Mineral Point High School in Wisconsin, it's in my blood.  Out of High School, I joined the Navy, briefly worked for Motorola as an Electronics Technician and currently work for Southern Minnesota Municipal Power Agency as an Energy Marketer.  We have lived and been working in Rochester for the past 15 years.  My son Joey is on the team and this will also be his 6th year as a youth wrestler.  Looking forward to a great season with our veteran wrestlers and new wrestlers to the club.

Coach Zach Sheeran - Youth Coach

Zach has been involved with the Rochester Panthers Wrestling Club for 7 years now. The first year he brought his Pre-K son to practice he couldn’t resist helping out on the mat. A few years of helping out led to him being an assistant coach. He enjoys being able to teach kids the techniques of wrestling and helping them to thrive. Zach started his wrestling career at the age of 6 and wrestled through his junior year of high school. He was forced to quit the sport due to a shoulder injury. The moment he found out his first child was a boy, he began to get excited about the possibility of being part of wrestling again. Luckily, he’ll get to be involved for many years to come as he’s the father of three boys that enjoy wrestling as much as he did!

Coach Scott Olson - Youth Coach

This is my 4th year helping with Panther wrestling.  I believe wrestling allows young athletes the opportunity to challenge themselves and build self-confidence while having fun.  I look forward to working with your child this wrestling season.  I am a sixth grade teacher at Kellogg Middle School and love to spend my summers at the lake.
